Linda Mascaro received a Cardinal Achievement Award from the University for her outstanding work as the Economics Department’s Administrative Assistant. Economics faculty and students have long recognized that the department would not run without Linda; however, this year posed exceptional challenges, which she met with her customary grace and efficiency. During our two job searches, she went above-and-beyond the call of duty (including work on nights and weekends) to make sure our many job candidates got here–a task complicated by the fact that we had a number of last-minute schedule changes–were housed, fed, and met the many people they were supposed to meet. In addition, Linda was largely responsible for the success of Gary Yohe’s retirement event and the Mike Lovell Memorial seminar, both of which went off without a hitch. President Roth will host a lunch for Linda and the other award winners on May 14th.
