Wesleyan celebrates Gary Yohe

On April 7, 2019, the Wesleyan Economics Department celebrated Gary W. Yohe, Huffington Foundation Professor of Economics and Environmental Studies, who will retire at the end of the current academic year.  The celebration featured a keynote address by Gary’s former student, Mark Jacobsen, a professor at the University of California San Diego, a panel discussion by a group of current and former students of Gary, and remarks by Gary.  At a reception following the sessions, President Michael Roth saluted Gary for his contributions to Wesleyan and the wider world.  Gary’s daughter, Courtney, presented him with statements read into the Congressional Record by Senator Chris Murphy and Rep. Rosa DeLauro.  Dinner featured a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday for Gary’s twin granddaughters, who were in attendance.
